Known double overprints are the N°, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13 & 17.
Known reversed overprints are the N° 8,9,10, 16, 18 & 19.

Examples of forgeries with typographic overprint:

|
Note:
In Katanga the Belgium Congo stamps with overprint were put out of use on the first of July 1961. It is presumed that only a small amount of the 10c stamps were in Albertville at the time of the overprint, therefore this series is the rarest of all.
|
|
General remark on the overprint:
According to Georges Celis there are 6 different types of overprints listed in his publication: La philatélie de transition au Congo, 1983.
The Katanga overprint is done in gloss ink; a smaller portion is done with mat ink. The Congo overprint is done with back or gray-black mat ink. Purple overprints are only known for the series 6-19.
